At Balanced Living, 779 Bukit Timah rd
Friday and Saturday. 9.30am-12.00pm

Would like to learn more about the Chakras and how their teachings can bring more Resilience and Grace into your present and future life?

Do you sometimes wish you had the tools to look at your life in a more positive way?
I often used to feel I wasn’t getting the support I needed. I wanted to be guided, parented even, and looked outside myself and to other people for guidance, comfort and happiness.

As I’ve moved through life and had to deal with its inevitable changes and challenges, I have realised, mainly through Yoga, that happiness, Resilience and Grace ultimately have to come from within.

We need to find and trust our inner guide to live a fulfilling life. To help us bounce back from the inevitable challenges life brings.
Yoga and learning at least the basic teachings of the chakras give us a strong foundation on which to build inner strength and poise.
To claim the grace and resilience we need to lead a good and happy life.

The Chakras are wheels or vortices of energy which are located all around our body.
They receive, rejuvenate and redistribute Prana (energy) all around our body. Schools of Yoga, TCM and other energy practitioners have differing ideas on how many Chakras our bodies house. From 1000s to 5.
In our workshop we’ll be working on the seven which are located centrally from the tailbone up to the crown of the head and how they affect the body, mind and spirit.

Difficult times come to us all. To live with more joy we need to learn from those tough moments and rise back stronger.
To me having Resilience and Grace means being able bounce back from difficult times as soon as possible. To process difficult emotions, accept, forgive where necessary and move towards enjoying the present moment more often.
It means feeling you are grounded and safe, knowing that you are connected to others and the world around you, wherever in the world you find yourself.
And that you are willing to accept and express who you truly are with love and compassion for yourself and others.

In this 2 day workshop you will learn how to guide your mind, body and spirit in practical and accessible ways to lead a life laced with more grace and joy.

You will do this through carefully selected Yoga poses and sequences, meditations, guided journaling and poetry, all interwoven with learning about the Chakras.

The first 3 chakras will be our guides.

Grounding and belonging, to fluidity and creativity, to strength and power.
Our morning will involve meditations, guided journalling and visualisations based on the teachings of Muladara, Chakras.
We’ll be emphasising our posture work on the grounding aspects of standing poses emphasising the feet, legs emphasising stamina, strength and poise.
We’ll also be working on poses that help bring a healthy balance of flexibility and strength to the legs and hips.

Grace is a quality of body, mind and spirit. It’s smoothness, elegance and finesse. It’s also acceptance, compassion, dignity and good will.
On Saturday morning we’ll be moving through a slow alignment based Vinyasa sequence and learning about how the higher 4 Chakras can bring more Grace into our lives. We’ll also be reflecting and learning through stories, poetry and meditations on how the higher Chakras bring a more mindful, spiritual and magical aspect to the everyday.
Our pose emphasis will be towards heart opening backbends, core strength and shoulder stability and flexibility.

Come and spend one or both mornings practising blissful Yoga interspersed with mindful Yogic teachings and connecting with people like you!

*Suitable for all levels of Yogini and Yogi regardless of levels or strength and flexibility.

Sarah’s workshop really opened my mind (and heart!) to a new way of being. She offered several practical ways I could enrich my busy and often overwhelming lifestyle by taking time for myself, in small, manageable ways.  I’m now determined to put these changes into practice.  I hadn’t realised how much I was neglecting my own self-care.  I feel rejuvenated, energised and inspired by her warmth and gentle guidance.  She is also very down-to-earth and explained everything really well. Thank you Sarah!!
